About Louis
I love science! Currently studying biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Melbourne, I am hoping to help students potentially struggling with science/maths to gain a better grasp of the subject. Once their understanding of the subjects grows, I hope that they will develop a passion for the subject and then excel!! I am approachable, understanding (I finished high school last year, understand the pressure on student's shoulders and am here to help!) and flexible with regard to my teaching methods to best suit my students; everybody learns differently so it is my responsibility to be flexible and adapt my teaching style to each individual student.

When teaching, my method revolves around completing practice questions. I will briefly go over a concept and then go over as many questions as required with the student until they understand the concept and how it is applied to a practical format. I would recommend a lesson time of 90 mins for older students (30 mins to cover theory and 1hr to go over practice questions) and 60 mins lessons for students from Year 5-8 (30 mins for theory and 30 mins for practice questions). I was head chemistry tutor at my High School in the UK where I was responsible for tutoring 10 other students from Year 7 to Year 10. I graduated from my high school with an equivalent ATAR of 96 and am hoping to tutor chemistry/maths/biology to students from Year 5 to Year 10.
