About Daphne

Hello! My name is Daphne, I am 21 years old and a second year Maths student at Oxford. I am currently taking a year out from university and am living at home and working (as a tutor and as a waitress in Richmond). I love working with other people and really look forward to meeting and working with you. I am hardworking and methodical, but also relaxed and will do my best to help you enjoy whatever subject we're working on! I also needed some help with one of my courses last year and hired a tutor to help me out for a while, so I know what it's like to be on the other end too. I'm very happy to take suggestions as to how to run things, I can mark work in between sessions and am flexible with timings.

In the past, I have taught classes of Sixth Form students to help them prepare for the Maths Admissions Test for Oxford, which I enjoyed and learnt a lot from. I was a Peer Mentor at school, and have worked in the afternoons at the West London Free School (looking after Primary School kids).

I went to the Vineyard School in Richmond and then Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. I took Maths (A*), Further Maths (A*), History Pre U (A*), Chemistry (A) and Modern Greek (A) to A Level, and all the standard GCSEs (as well as History and Art). I would be happy to tutor in any of these subjects.

Aside from academic studies I love art, especially drawing and painting. I would be very happy to tutor in art, whether it be fun after-school classes for younger kids or some guidance for GCSE students. I am attending a Painting Course at Central Saint Martins at the moment and I have done drawing and sculpture courses at the Ruskin School of Art and the London Art Academy in the past.
