About Malaeakea
Hi! My name is Mala'e, and I’m currently studying three languages: Spanish, French, and Portuguese. I’m fluent in both Hawaiian and English, and I’d love to support you in learning any of these languages. With seven years of experience in Spanish, two years in French, and nearly a year in Portuguese, I understand the challenges of language learning firsthand. I always strive to create a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment to help you succeed. My goal is to make the learning process enjoyable and effective for you.

As a fellow student, I understand the challenges of learning a new language. Through my own experience mastering three additional languages, I've developed fun and effective techniques to make the process enjoyable and rewarding. If you're looking for help with any of the four languages I teach—whether it’s speaking, listening, reading, or writing—I’m here to guide you from beginner to advanced levels. LEVELS (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2): English (A1-C2, aka beginner to mastery) *Tutoring for English is only for students that speak Spanish or Hawaiian Hawaiian (A1-C2, aka beginner to mastery) Spanish (A1-C1, aka beginner to advanced) French (A1-B1, aka beginner to intermediate) Portuguese (A1-B1, aka beginner to intermediate) Our first session will start with a quick introduction to assess your needs, and from there, each lesson will be highly personalized to ensure steady progress. If you prefer to slow down and review material with worksheets, we can definitely incorporate that into our lessons. Alternatively, if you feel confident with the basics and are ready to tackle more advanced topics, we can dive into those as well. You can always expect new, relevant content tailored specifically to your goals. Thank you for considering me as your new language tutor! :)

Perfect! One of the only tutors available on Superprof and online, that speaks fluent Hawaiian and available to teach it! I have no regrets in meeting Malaeakea (Mala’e), she is perfect to talk Hawaiian to! I came up with a plan on learning Hawaiian as a complete beginner, but I want to learn to speak fluent Hawaiian, not kindergarten, tourist stuff. Mala’e understands this, and I already learned so much from her, so much new vocabulary and sentence structure! As Hawaiian is only spoken by 18,000 or less people, a critically endangered language, Mala’e speaks it - she is truly a fortune!
