About Robin
I worked as an ESOL teacher and agency Executive Director for 15 years in community based non-profit organizations in Springfield and Holyoke Massachusetts. During this time I worked with (and learned from) hundreds of adult new-comers whose ages ranged from 16-65 years old. Their goals ranged from wanting to learn English to be able to communicate in English with their grand children, to people looking for a job, or wanting to get a better job; to adults preparing to enter college. Several of my students received the "Adult Student of the Year" award from the Massachusetts Coalition of Adult Educators. Many of my "college bound" students successfully entered and graduated from college; others successfully entered the work force for the first time, or got better paying jobs.

Certified ESOL instructor working primarily with adults who want to learn English, or improve their English language skills in order to get a job, get a better job or prepare to enter college. I emphasize developing speaking, reading and writing skills focused on the personal goals of my students. I believe learning a new language should be student centered to help the student achieve his/her goals, fun, and exciting.

Details
Webcam meetings are encouraged when ever possible for the convenience of the student and tutor. Face-to-face time with students (which includes the lesson prep time) is charged at $30/hr. If I have to travel to meet the student at a library or other public venue, I charge $40./hr. I do not meet students at my home or their home.
