About Ava

I’ve tutored 12 students in everything from Calculus to Information Theory. Also TAed for and created a good chunk of the content (presentations, code notebooks) for a program of math-heavy ML bootcamps for non-CS major graduate students for nearly 3 years.

For what it’s worth, I was a math nerd with a 1580 SAT and 4.5 GPA in school, but I think it's really the teaching experience that taught me how to explain concepts clearly and intuitively, even to someone not as interested in the subject. I was also lucky enough to take small class size courses in every topic I'm listing, so I have a very solid understanding of all of them.

What I teach at the moment: Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Information Theory, Game Theory, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics, and Calculus.

About the lesson

I personalize my lessons based on your specific goals for the session. Some students may want to cram for a test, others may want to catch up with the material for their class, and some may just be looking for someone to answer their questions and help them along when taking a course with a large class size.

I often spend the first minute of these hour long sessions asking what your goals for the session are, and I quickly transition us into work based on your response.
