About Claire
Hello! I’m a passionate and experienced teacher with 14 years of teaching experience across the world. Having lived and worked in several countries, including South Africa, the UK, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and the UAE, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds and educational systems.
I’m currently a part-time teacher at an award-winning independent primary school in London. I spend my mornings teaching in the classroom and my afternoons working online with students in Hong Kong and the UAE. I absolutely love what I do and, most importantly, I love helping students grow in confidence, develop a genuine enjoyment of learning and achieve things they perhaps didn’t think they were capable of!
My teaching style is friendly, encouraging and personalised. I believe that every student learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each child, understand their strengths and identify the areas where they need a little extra support. I want my lessons to be engaging, challenging and enjoyable, while making sure that students are making consistent progress.
My Teaching Experience & Expertise:
Having worked extensively within international education, I have experience teaching the British National Curriculum (UK), Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula. This allows me to adapt my lessons to suit different educational systems, school expectations and individual learning needs. My online lessons are interactive and carefully planned around each student’s individual needs. I use digital whiteboards, screen-sharing and collaborative tools to make learning visual, engaging and accessible. I also provide regular feedback and monthly progress reports so that parents can see how their child is developing and where we are focusing our attention.
11+ & Independent School Success
One of my particular areas of expertise is preparing students for competitive school entrance examinations. Over the years, I have successfully supported students gaining places at a number of highly regarded independent, grammar and international schools. Some of the schools my students have gained entry to include:
London Independent & Grammar Schools:
* Haberdashers’ Boys’ School
* The Latymer School
* St Albans School
* St Helen’s
* Highgate School
* University College School (UCS)
* Immanuel College
* Channing School
* Merchant Taylors’ School
* North London Collegiate School
* North Bridge House Hampstead
* City of London School
* St Olave’s Grammar School
* Ibstock Place School Prestigious Boarding & International Schools:

My Approach to Maths Tuition:
I believe that the best learning happens when a student feels empowered, safe, and truly engaged. My primary goal is to foster a positive, happy relationship with every student. I create a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable to grow, explore challenging concepts, and—most importantly—feel safe to make mistakes. Mistakes are an essential part of the learning journey, and I guide students through them with patience and encouragement to build lasting confidence.
To ensure every lesson is dynamic and effective, I utilise a variety of industry-leading digital tools and tech-enhanced Learning: I integrate resources such as Century Tech, CGP, Corbett Maths, ATOM Learning, and Mathletics to provide interactive practice, instant feedback, and varied ways of visualising mathematical problems.
Are you looking to build your child's mathematical confidence, close gaps in understanding, or push them toward academic excellence? While I am based in London, I have extensive experience working with students across the UAE, providing high-calibre, bespoke Mathematics tuition tailored to the rigorous requirements of the British curriculum.

Claire assisted our family in getting our twins into our top target schools in South London. She is a wonderful 11-plus tutor. We had started with another tutor and moved over to Claire about 6 months before writing. She was friendly and treated both of our girls as individuals. We are so proud of them and thankful to Claire for her guidance and help.
Claire has been tutoring my daughter in key stage 2. She started with my daughter in Year 4 and will continue with her in Year 8. She is friendly, approachable and a great asset to my daughter!
