About Selin
Teaching Spanish for over a decade has shown me how transformative language learning can be. I’m deeply passionate about helping learners experience Spanish as a tool for connection — with people, culture, and themselves. My approach blends patience, humor, and creativity, meeting each student where they are in their journey. Having lived in Spanish-speaking communities, I bring authentic cultural context to every lesson — whether it’s exploring regional expressions or traditional customs. My students often describe lessons as lively and inspiring, filled with laughter and meaningful conversation. Outside of teaching, I immerse myself in literature and Latin music, which continuously refreshes the content I bring to class. I love seeing students reach the moment where they start thinking in Spanish — that’s when the language truly becomes part of them.

My Spanish lessons create a space where language becomes a living experience, not just a subject. Grammar is taught in context — through games, dialogues, and visual cues — ensuring understanding without rote memorization. Intermediate and advanced learners explore storytelling, opinion-based discussions, and cultural idioms that enrich fluency and comprehension.
Each class balances structure and spontaneity. I use songs, short readings, and interactive challenges to make learning immersive and enjoyable. My ultimate goal is to help students feel confident using Spanish in real conversations, travel, or work environments.
