About Leland
With a decade of experience in Spanish language teaching, I work closely with high school and college students to help them reach their academic goals. My experience allows me to adapt lessons to suit beginners as well as advanced learners.
I focus strongly on personalised learning. I assess each student’s level and objectives before planning lessons, ensuring focused and effective instruction. This method helps students progress with confidence and clarity.
My lessons emphasise grammar fundamentals, vocabulary development, pronunciation, and conversational fluency. I use real-world examples and interactive activities to make learning practical and engaging.

My Spanish teaching approach focuses on creativity, understanding, and practical communication. I aim to make lessons simple, engaging, and useful for daily communication and academic learning.
I use creative teaching techniques such as dialogues, role plays, storytelling, visuals, and real-life examples. Grammar and vocabulary are explained clearly and practised immediately through speaking, writing, and reading exercises.
As a mentor, I guide students to think critically, correct mistakes, and improve accuracy. I encourage active participation, independent learning, and curiosity to boost confidence.
Accountability is maintained through regular practice exercises, assignments, and feedback. Students are encouraged to stay consistent and take responsibility for their learning.
Along with Spanish, I also teach communication skills, pronunciation improvement, vocabulary building, cultural understanding, and exam preparation. My goal is to help students become fluent and confident Spanish speakers.
