About Joe
I am a native Spanish speaker, fluent in both Spanish and English. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish language and literature and a minor in Spanish translation. I teach all levels of Spanish: Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Conversational, AP Spanish, and University Spanish.

My teaching methodology is the"I do, we do, you do" modeling techniques which I adapt for the student's understanding. When the student makes errors, I correct mistakes in a positive way and encourage correct output. I successfully isolate mistakes with verbal cues or on-screen instructions. I elicit full sentences from the student for most of the time. I align my vocabulary with the student's level and I encourage the student to expand upon one-word answers. While teaching, I use correct Spanish, including synthetic phonics, grammar, diction, and general usage.
