I participated in a zoom small group Spanish conversation class that Carlos led. He is very friendly and encouraging and a talented teacher. It was a fun group of people. I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to improve their ability to converse in Spanish.

For several years, I have been taking classes with Carlos Francia and will continue to do so because he provides useful and effective instruction. His degree in linguistics distinguishes Carlos from other teachers I have studied under since he knows the structure of languages and can communicate it in a clear and concise manner. Because of the way Carlos explains the language concepts, I have consistently improved my Spanish and am convinced that he will provide practical ways for me to continue my progress in the future as I attempt to speak at a high level. In addition to being extremely professional, Carlos is friendly, open-minded, and humorous which makes speaking to him in both Spanish and English a total joy. This is essential since I certainly would not want to take classes with a linguistics expert who is boring to speak to.

I have known Carlos for quite some time and I believe he makes an excellent tutor for anyone with a goal to better their understanding of the Spanish language.
Not only does he have a versatile knowledge of the subject at hand with his certified education, he has experienced the downfalls and challenges behind learning a new language.

When I made the decision to learn and study Spanish I was expecting to learn by memorizing words and phrases. However, Carlos Francia takes a different approach, using stories which allow me to learn the language in a natural progression over time. It's almost like I'm teaching myself while he explains the intracacies of conjugation, sentence structure and pronunciation.
Another benefit of his turoring is that his Spanish grammar lessons require me to revisit English grammar, which is improving my writing skills. It's a win-win in both languages.

Carlos is an excellent teacher. As someone who began lessons knowing virtually no Spanish at all, he has been incredibly patient. Carlos tailors each lesson to my evolving level. He has a really encouraging teaching style and challenges me to continue to take risks. He can quickly shift teaching styles to try out new methods that meet my individual learning needs. He takes time to design and tailor each lesson to his students interests. I work in a school and he has helped me craft sentences that I frequently need to use in order to communicate with my students families. Lessons are fun, and filled with interesting facts about the Spanish language, and language in general (he speaks multiple languages). I've tried more traditional Spanish classes in the past, and I can confidently say that I have learned much more through my lessons with Carlos. I would highly suggest working with him!

I've known Carlos since he tutored me in Buenos Aires 14 years ago. Carlos cares about his students and can easily shift his teaching methodology to suit the student's manner of learning (visual, aural, anecdotes, etc). He can tell you a joke and explain (in two languages) why it's funny. High charisma, large vocabulary, and presence in the classroom makes his teaching methods suitable for adult or child, beginner or advanced. Highest recommendation.

Carlos is a fantastic teacher. He REALLY understands language in many different ways (day-to-day usage, grammatically and linguistically) and he's great at explaining all of this to his students in a way that makes language fun and exciting. Most importantly it works - I made huge strides in learning spanish in just a couple months and I owe it all the Carlos. Plus, he's a good and interesting guy! Can't recommend him enough!

Carlos was an amazing language teacher. I met him through a mutual friend and began taking Spanish lessons from him shortly after. He was patient, thorough, and always prepared. Even though he is a native Spanish speaker, he had a more complete grasp of the English language than I did.
