About Dave
I am a singer-songwriter, it's not just what I do, it's who I am. It is how I see the world, how I relate to others and how I navigate this peculiar experience that we call life.
As a performing artist, I have toured and performed extensively across South Africa and have released two original albums: "Duende" 2018 and "Shifting Boundaries" 2020. Three of my songs have been used for television series and I have composed the soundtrack for a feature film.
I have a BA degree in Drama and Classical Studies from UCT, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education also from UCT and a Postgraduate Certificate in Music from UHI (Scotland).
Before going full-time into music, I worked in high school education, gaining years of experience in working with a wide range of artistic personalities.
I know how difficult it can be to experience "the call" to be an artist and my sessions draw on a combination of teaching, coaching and even counselling in order to help my students discover and master their artistic identity.
