These foundational tools allow developers to work efficiently and maintain high-quality, traceable codebases. Building a web application from scratch usually begins with planning the architecture and defining the responsibilities of the frontend, backend, and database. On the frontend, developers commonly use JavaScript or TypeScript with frameworks like React or Next.js to create responsive user interfaces. On the backend, Node.js with TypeScript is widely used alongside frameworks such as Express or NestJS to build secure and scalable APIs. Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB are integrated using ORMs such as Prisma or TypeORM to manage data reliably. Once development begins, the application is typically containerised using Docker to ensure consistency across local, staging, and production environments.
