About Emma
I am passionate about both singing and teaching singing. I have a first class BMus (Hons) and a distinction at MMus from the Royal Northern College of Music, and have completed an Advanced Diploma on the Royal Academy of Music's Opera Course. I have also completed a singing teaching course with the Association of Teachers of Singing.
I have over 5 years teaching experience, working both online and in-person. I have worked with students towards goals including performing in opera, working on choral repertoire, preparing for graded exams and with those who simply wish to learn for the enjoyment of learning a new skill.
As a professional opera singer, I have worked with companies including Glyndebourne Festival Opera, English Touring Opera, English National Opera, Opera holland Park and many more. I use my professional experience to guide my teaching and am very happy to offer advice for students that may be considering a career in classical music.
Having sung for opera companies, in concerts, competitions and for events such as weddings and parties, I can support you in your singing journey - whatever your goals and aspirations.
I strive to make singing lessons as enjoyable and informative as possible through my selection of vocal exercises and repertoire.
I truly believe that every student has great potential.

About the lesson

Singing lessons are tailored to each individual. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced singer; preparing for a performance or hoping to increase your confidence, we will work together to develop your vocal technique and reach your goals.
Learn to sing in a friendly and supportive environment.
In lessons, we will work on posture; warm-up your body and voice for singing; use technical exercises to expand your range, stamina and improve breath control; and work on carefully selected repertoire that inspires you and facilities your development.
Throughout lessons we will also explore communication, stage/performance skills, learning/memorising music, developing confidence and much more...!
30 or 50 minute lessons are available for both individuals and joint lessons (if you would like to learn with a friend).
Lessons are taught at the Under the Bridge Music Studio (Brighton), the Fulham Dance Attic (London - fortnightly) or online.
