As a Senior Structural Engineer (Ph.D., P.Eng.) with 11+ years of industry experience, 7+ years of research, and 12+ years of university teaching, tutoring, and mentoring, my approach is centered on helping students truly understand civil and structural engineering, not just pass exams. I combine deep academic foundations with real-world engineering insight to create lessons that are practical, intuitive, and directly applicable to coursework, research, and professional practice. My goal is not just to teach, but to help you think like a civil/structural engineer.

My lessons are fully tailored to each student’s course needs, assignments, and exam preparation. A standard session typically includes:
1) Concept Review (5–10 min): Quick recap of fundamentals, linking them to what the student is currently studying.
2) Deep Dive into Topic (20–30 min): Clear explanations with diagrams, real examples, and theory–practice connections.
3) Worked Examples (20–30 min): We solve problems step-by-step, emphasizing reasoning, assumptions, and engineering judgment.
4) Software or Visualization (as needed): Demonstrations using STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, MATLAB/Simulink, or other tools for applicable courses.
5) Q&A and Summary (5–10 min): Clarification of questions plus a concise summary and recommended practice problems.
My core teaching methodology and techniques include:
> Bridging Theory and Industry: I emphasize the link between textbook concepts and real engineering practice. Whenever possible, I incorporate experience from actual structural design projects (concrete, steel, dynamics, seismic, etc.) to help students understand how and why concepts are used in industry.
> Project-Based & Interactive Learning: I use a hands-on, problem-driven approach where students solve real engineering scenarios. Lessons are interactive, encourage questions, and adapt dynamically based on the student’s pace and feedback.
> Structured Problem-Solving Methods: I teach a systematic framework for tackling engineering problems, ideal for improving exam performance, design assignments, and research work.
> Visual & Virtual Tools: I incorporate diagrams, virtual models, software demonstrations, and dynamic visualization to help students grasp difficult concepts (structural behavior, load paths, dynamic response, etc.).
