About Ieva
I’m a Senior GIS Consultant with over 4½ years of professional experience in both environmental and built environment sectors. I’ve worked in an environmental consultancy, where I helped develop and refine Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) GIS templates, improved BNG metrics, and created landscape and visual assessment (LVA) plans. I also have extensive experience cleaning and integrating CAD files into GIS workflows. Currently, I manage internal spatial data for a building management company using ArcGIS, optimising the use of buildings and facilities. This combination of environmental and corporate GIS experience gives me a unique perspective that I bring into my lessons, combining real-world applications with practical skills. I enjoy helping students and professionals build confidence in GIS, teaching in a hands-on, supportive way, and tailoring each session to the learner’s goals. My aim is to make GIS approachable, practical, and immediately useful, whether for academic projects, career development, or personal learning.
