About Antonio
I was born and grew up in Havana, Cuba, and I received a graduate degree in art history from the University of Havana. I have written and published extensively about Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin American visual arts and culture. I have contributed to several publications with a focus on Latin American art. I am also a visual artist and art curator, and my work as a visual artist is part of permanent public and private collections in North America, South America, Europe, the Caribbean, and China. I have taught for over two decades at major institutions of higher education in Canada and the USA.

Spanish
Spanish is my mother tongue, and for over 20 years I have taught Spanish Language courses and courses in Latin American Art and History at several universities in Canada and the USA. I can teach all levels, from beginners to more advanced courses. I combine lessons from some popular textbooks and methodologies, with my personal experience after living and traveling extensively through the Caribbean and Latin America. I prefer to teach Spanish by introducing my students to the history, geography, and culture of different Spanish-speaking nations.
