About Maria
As soon as I was able to hold a crayon, I was fascinated by art. Taking as many classes, private instruction and college preparatory courses as I possibly could, I landed at The California College of the Arts where I studied with Viola Frey, a well-respected clay sculptor world-renowned for her larger-than-life ceramic works. After earning my BFA in Ceramics, I applied and was accepted to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I earned my MFA and have been involved in art and art education in various degrees since graduation.

Schooled at prestigious art schools, Maria Viray has taught arts and crafts classes to people aged 5 and above. In addition, she has recruited art students for study on the college and postgrad level and is well versed in what art schools want from an applicant’s portfolio and statement of purpose. She is also interested in supplemental art instruction for high school students currently enrolled in AP art and art history classes. She can help those students gain an edge over other students and prepare them for study in art, design, art history and related fields.
