Matthew has been my son’s tutor for the last 3 years and it’s fantastic to see the progress that has been made! After struggling to see any progress with previous tutors we were recommended Matthew after hearing a recital by another one of his pupils, and since then my son has been flying through the grades! He is a very patient teacher and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, making sure my son is engaged throughout. I would highly recommend!

Matthew is an excellent saxophone teacher who is quirky, fun, and really knows his stuff. He is patient and thorough in his teaching style, and I have very much enjoyed learning with him. As a beginner, he was particularly good at demonstrating and explaining fundamental technical skills, which meant a nice quick start to playing pieces. Matthew also has an expansive knowledge of music theory, and uses this in every lesson to help with understanding of the music we learn. I highly recommend him as a teacher, whether you are a young beginner, an intermediate player, or an adult like myself.

Matt's definitely got his thinking cap on when it comes to the sax! cor, blimey! what a teacher. I could listen to his dulcet tones all day, and his playing's not too bad either. Hahaha. Seriously though, his saxing will knock your two little socks off! just be careful not to mention Lili Boulanger if you want the lesson to finish before two o'clock.
