About Marin

I have been teaching saxophone for 5 years now. Trained in London, at the London Center of Creative Media, a school of current jazz and music for 3 years, this training was completed by a stay in New York in order to immerse myself in jazz culture. To date, I have been working in several jazz and current music groups and directing a free improvisation project “Le Poulpe Noir“ For 3 years I have been involved in a training course to become a teacher of the Alexander Technique, a technique of physical rehabilitation particularly useful for musicians to prevent pain and have greater freedom of movement

About the lesson

I am convinced that learning an instrument should be done in playing, in fun. This is why I always try to give a playful dimension to my lessons, whether for essential bases (scales, arpeggios ...) or the work of the pieces. Another aspect of music that interests me is the relationship to the body. I came to be interested in it by discovering the Alexander Technique. This technique has completely changed my instrumental practice, which is why I am keen to transmit it My courses include: - Listening to tradition: lists of regular listening on different themes: Jazz, Blues, ballads, Funk, Latin .. - Fundamentals essential to the saxophone: Scales, arpeggios, breath, mouthpiece .. - Rhythm games using the body - Work of melodies from the jazz, funk and any other melodies that you like - Body work: be aware of the bodily coordination that the saxophone requires, learn to play with the right tension
