About Samuel
Currently studying a degree in Creative Music Technology at UWE, I know firsthand what it takes to get the qualifications needed to pursue a future in music. As a GCSE and A-Level student, I struggled to find structure and consistency in my revision, making the courses seem impossible at times. As a tutor, I can share the lessons I learnt about motivation in the subject. With an inside out knowledge of music theory, composition and the study skills required, I feel confident in my ability to pass on my own experiences, tailored to the need of any student. As an individual, I have received a grade 8 certification in classical trumpet, and grade 7 in piano, with over 10 years of instrumental experience. I have also participated in musical ensembles throughout my life, acting as the principal trumpet at the Tapton youth Jazz Band, and playing with both the prized Dronfield Genquip brass band and world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

As a Music student, I know exactly how demanding the subject can be, from endless composition difficulties, to learning the ins and outs of theory. Receiving a 9 at GCSE and an A at A-Level with full marks in composition for both, I have a great deal of experience of what is required for the courses and over 10 years of instrumental experience. On top of this experience, I am also fully DBS checked, with two years of primary education experience. My lessons are aimed at students at a GCSE level and below, or anyone looking to develop their composition and theory skills. I offer lessons from half an hour check-ins, to two hour intensive remedial sessions. Receiving glowing feedback from prior clients, I provide an individual service, with additional support in the areas your child needs most. I can help to provide a structure to anyone's learning and revision, creating timetables to aid learning outside tutoring hours, with personalised support during the sessions to ensure your child's success in this complex and wonderful subject.
