About Pilar

Having worked in the field of education for over sixteen years, I take great pride in witnessing my students' achievements. In my opinion, a stress-free, safe atmosphere must be actively created and maintained with collaborative support from teachers, other school staff, and parents to efficiently teach. My approach to teaching is communication with a variety of teaching techniques, catering to different types of learners and providing ample opportunity for my students to complete the course with success. As well, it is within my endeavors to be part of an organization that strives toward ending social disparities within underprivileged communities. This includes being a strong believer in advocating for educational equity and excellence for all children, especially those who are more vulnerable due to poverty, citizenship status, sexual orientation, race, and anything else that impedes the success and equitable education of a child.

I also believe that my education background will provide me with the necessary tools to engage with children and support them beyond their educational needs so that they can choose and define their future as they envision it.

My values and beliefs are the foundations of my goals, but also the inspiration that continues to fuel my vision of ending social injustices and poverty. This is why it would be a great pleasure to join Teach for America because your values and mission identify with me as a teacher and who I am as a person.

About the lesson

To all students: I hope you are given every opportunity to succeed in your professional career and fuel your ambitious spirit with skills and new knowledge. One way to expand your opportunities would be through the acquisition of a second language and striving for proficiency. I’m committed to working alongside you to develop stronger communication skills in this session by practicing speaking and writing as well as listening and reading. Although the process is rigorous, I believe that by working together, we can accomplish the aim.
