About Laura
As a teacher of 30+ years, I have taught students of variety of backgrounds, abilities, levels. I want my students to grasp the concepts and lessons that are in front of them, but also be able to extend their learning. Often when taught in a different method or strategy will prove great results. Most important is for my students to look forward to learning and understand WHY they are learning a specific concept or lesson. Above all to enjoy the learning process. One main focus of mine has always been, if I am bored, so are my students-so there is always a need to keep it exciting and my students engaged!

I have worked with children with varieties of learning styles and challenges. Many times differentiated lessons/instruction help to provide understanding and achievement. After 30 years in the classroom, I was ready to retire teaching in the classroom, but not ready to end teaching and working with children that may need help with homework, strategies to improve grades, reading/comprehension, grammar/punctuation, understanding concepts in math, ELA, Social Studies and overall organization/completion of assignments.
