About Cathy
I am a retired teacher of Music, English, ESL, and Computers in Education. I have a PhD in Educational Media & Computers from ASU. I retired from the CIS Department at Scottsdale Community College in 2003. From 1976 to 1981 I lived and worked in Paris as a teacher. While there, I met and married a fellow teacher who is my current husand. We travel often to Paris, France and have a granddaughter who lives and works there.

My teaching method is based on conversations, with an emphasis on vocabulary building. I base my classes on real life scenarios that are part of my experiences living, working and traveling in France. I approach each topic by reviewing the lessons learned in a previous topic (if appropriate). If I am with a new student, I evaluate the student's current level of knowledge and the reason the student is interested in learning French.

Pricing does not change by level of student.
I prefer to not travel farther than ten miles. I do not take students after 5pm.
I request a 24-hr. cancellation before a lesson. I will drop a student who misses or is late for three consecutive lessons.
I expect respectful behavior from both students and parents.
Payment by cash or check. I do not accept credit cards.
