About Peter

I have been teaching on a part-time basis as an adjunct instructor since 1988. There were times that my class only had 10 students and other times 35. There have been many students who we have crossed paths. I always had excellent reviews with maybe exceptions of those students who for whatever reason didn't want to follow the learning plan. I have worked with some of my former students who had become Accountants or HR Directors, or working for a local Attorney. Many of my students now have their Associates degrees or even their Master's degree. There have been many times in my travels when former students come up to me and tell me where they are now and how I helped them get there. I have even had the pleasure of teaching my daughter to receive her Associates degree in Accounting and Business Management and graduating with her daughter when receiving an Associate degree in computer applications. My daughter now is finishing her Bachelors degree. I once had a mother in my class and then several years later her daughter took the same class from me.

About the lesson

My first degree was in education. I love teaching the basics of courses such as Accounting and Business. I have taught Adult Ed, Associate Degree programs and Bachelor Degree programs, and have tutored many students over the years from the Adult Ed, through Master Programs. I have been an adjunct for many colleges in Maine. Most of my teaching has been with a standard syllabus from the institution. I have great patience and will take my time with my student in order for them to grasp the material. There are times when I am able to show different ways to get the answer. I am a half way guy; you come half way and I will come the other half, and we will be successful. Sometimes I try and teach the student to accept a portion of a method to gain the answer.
