About Sherryl

Do you struggle to balance the precision of bowing technique with the demands of a full-time job? Mastering shifting positions, intonation, and rhythm requires a disciplined ear, which I cultivate through 6 years of teaching experience. Having earned a DMA from the Michigan School of Music, I apply the Auer and Galamian lineage to your posture and hold.

My own teacher was remarkably patient with a restless student like me, and that legacy defines how I mentor your left-hand agility. I want to see you refine your tuning by ear until the music speaks for itself. Since I work with many professionals, I understand the weight of your goals and help you reach them with clarity.

About the lesson

Your initial meeting starts by establishing a foundation for your physical connection to the instrument. We examine your current bow hold and make adjustments based on the 6 year pedagogical tradition I represent.

Technical precision serves as the bedrock for the phrasing we will build together in the following weeks. I expect you to summarize the core concepts back to me before the clock runs out.

This feedback loop ensures the information is truly absorbed rather than just heard. You will find the environment demands focus but respects your time constraints. Clarity remains the primary objective as we prepare the next steps for your technical development.
