About Tatiana

I have a lot of experience in tutoring Chemistry, especially for GCSEs and A Levels. I am very familiar with both courses and so am aware of not only which aspects students tend to find the most difficult, but also the best ways to tackle these issues. Whilst at Oxford, I have participated in multiple Chemistry tutoring programmes and summer schools, as well as privately tutoring. I have also had experience teaching Maths to primary school children from Years 3 up to 6, working on skills from basic division and multiplication to those needed for exams such as the 11+. For around 5 years I have been helping primary school children with both Maths and Sciences and regularly teaching tennis to groups of children of ages 3 to 14, so I am very comfortable working with children of a range of ages and can adapt my teaching methods to suit the needs of the individual.

I have a 1st class MChem degree, achieved 12 A*s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A Level (in Maths, Chemistry and Russian), and was an Academic Scholar at school, receiving the Prize for Chemistry in Year 13.

I am friendly, with a good sense of humour and very passionate about my subject!

About the lesson

My online lessons are interactive and often involve working through problems on an online whiteboard. This is the way I was taught to tackle Chemistry and I believe it is very effective! Lessons tend to range from 1-1.5 hours.

In lessons I will not only cover the core content and ensure full understanding from the student, but I often include further material that may be off the syllabus. Whether this is a fun fact related to the topic or a concept that takes the material to a slightly higher level, I try my best to pass on my passion for Chemistry!

I have taught a range of ages and abilities so can cater many different students.

As a tennis player, Tatiana is focused and determined, often training 2-4 hours a week maintaining a high level of performance. During match play, Tatiana has a sense of friendliness and fair play, treating people courteously, no matter the situation.

Tatiana also assists as a junior tennis coach and has done so for 3 years. When coaching Tatiana is professional, organised and considerate. She is able to apply a good level of technical knowledge during each lesson whilst creating a fun atmosphere.
