About Sophie
My name's Sophie, I'm a gradiate from King's College Cambridge, with an English degree specialising in contemporary and 20th century works. I have three years experience working for an educational residential summer programme in St Peter's College, Oxford. I have taught English, Creative Writing and Modern History lessons to pupils aged 13-15. I also have extensive experience as a drama practitioner using theatre as a tool in education and confidence building.
During employment for the above summer school, I worked with international young people from all over the world, coming from a uniquely widespread assortment of religious and family backgrounds. Initially I was in a role largely centred around the welfare and enjoyment of our students, running activities, helping with academic work and forming a mentor style relationship with them. After promotion to the role of Junior Dean, I had greater administration, disciplinary and delicate welfare responsibilities, overseeing groups of students up to 180 at a time.
Special knowledge of Oxbridge entrance procedures & preparation.
I'm a fun, creative and well organised person with a plan to work in theatre as a career choice. Happy to work flexible hours, First Aid trained and DBS checked!
