Depending on the lesson we would begin with a short reading or free write to get things started. This normally only takes five to ten minutes.
Then we would transition to discussion the initial activity. If reading, we would delve into the words of the chosen passage to further comprehension and understanding. If writing, we would do quick proofreads and editing to improve the piece of writing. In both cases these can often lead to brainstorming session to expand on thoughts and ideas. This can take ten to twenty minutes.
After these starter exercises, we would dive into whatever specifically they need help with. Times vary depending on tasks.
