About Ivy
Being involved in musical studies since the age of 5, I've completed all the piano examinations following the RCM curriculum. I have over 5 years of experience in teaching piano, as well as music theory, harmony, and history, and over 10 years of playing experience. I've also volunteered in a variety of summer camps, tutoring, and community events, gaining experience in working with children of all ages.
Based in Coquitlam, I am a passionate, enthusiastic, and easygoing piano teacher currently studying at the University of British Columbia. I am patient, organized, and creative, hoping to not only share my knowledge through my lessons, but also inspire a love of music in each of my students.

My lessons and resources will vary based on each student's individual needs and goals, however, the primary method books I use are RCM based. I teach students from beginner (new to piano) to level 10, and I believe music is not only a useful tool in life, but also a way to express and share emotions. My goal is to support each of my students in finding their own understanding of music and developing their passions, recognizing and adapting my teaching to their different personalities and ways of learning.
