About Philip

I am a qualified teacher from the UK with 13 years of experience teaching secondary-level learners in schools, and 8 years of experience teaching ESL to learners of all ages and abilities. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, along with TEFL and Business English certifications. In the UK, I taught in special education for learners with diverse educational needs, which helped me develop a wide range of teaching skills to support students of all abilities in achieving their goals. As a result, I can adapt to individual learning styles and ensure expectations are met with great results. I have spent the past 8 years teaching English to non-native speakers from many different countries, which has taught me to value a wide variety of accents, cultures, and ideas. I deeply respect and admire the effort each learner puts into improving in a foreign language. It’s a continual pleasure to meet individuals of all age groups and help them work towards their future goals. This includes everything from explaining grammar points, practising conversation skills, expanding vocabulary, and reducing accents, to refining presentations, reviewing professional writing, and teaching natural, everyday expressions. I am a passionate teacher who takes pride in both my work and my students, and I strive to provide a positive learning environment where every learner can succeed.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to the needs, goals and expectations of the individual student. Do you want to practise grammar? Broaden your vocabulary? Need help writing CVs or preparing for job interviews? Lessons are fun, engaging, student-centred and use real-world scenarios for language application so you can build your confidence and improve your English skills. Constructive feedback and correction are an integral part of my teaching style and you can expect both correction and feedback in every class. I believe that making mistakes is part of the learning journey and is a valuable opportunity to improve. With over 20 years' teaching experience to learners of all ages and abilities, my classes are for anyone who needs professional assistance to build skills and confidence on your learning journey.
