About Eva

I was teaching languages for 15 years both at secondary schools to teenagers and also to adults. I love giving one-to-one tutoring because this is where teaching can be most efficient in my view. By teaching individually, students' needs and goals can be fully considered and I can adjust my lessons accordingly.

About the lesson

I am a native Hungarian speaker and a fully qualified English and Hungarian teacher with a Bachelor's degree. I’ve gained a lot of experience in teaching Hungarian to English speakers, both in person and on Skype and I simply love it! I have been learning languages all my life, so I know how difficult it is to learn a language and how nervous you can get when it comes to speaking! In my lessons I’ll encourage you to speak in the given language as much as possible by using pictures, stories, articles I’ll also make sure that you enjoy the lesson because I know that if you have fun you are at ease and you are not worrying that much about making mistakes. I always encourage my students to "play" with the language, to take risks and say things even when they are not sure that their sentence is correct! Why? It's simple: this is the only way to make progress! This is the way kids learn their mother tongue! You will never get better if you "play safe" and you only say things of which you know for sure that they are correct.

Perfect! Eva is very patient and explains things well. She helps to tailor the lessons to help me work on the parts that I find most difficult. She is very flexible with booking and always open for questions between lessons. I have really enjoyed my lessons and felt challenged by them (in a good way).

Excellent! I have really enjoyed learning Hungarian with Eva, she is a very patient and friendly teacher! During the first lesson we spoke about what I wanted to achieve and Eva gave me the choice between two textbooks to work from. Our lessons over Skype are relaxed and informal with a good mix of reading, writing and speaking. Hungarian is quite a difficult language but the lessons are broken down into manageable exercises that build on each other. I would definitely recommend Eva if you are looking for a Hungarian tutor!
