About Jasper
Hello, I’m Jasper, a passionate Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director, and sports coach with a strong interest in helping young people develop their skills, confidence, and love for sport.
I have a background in Human Kinetics and Health Education and professional experience teaching and coaching students across different age groups. Through my work in Physical Education and school sports, I have had the opportunity to coach and support young athletes in tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, football, swimming, and general fitness.
As a coach, I believe that learning a sport should be both purposeful and enjoyable. I am particularly passionate about working with children and beginners because I enjoy seeing their progress from learning the basic movements to becoming confident enough to play independently and participate in competitions.
My coaching style is patient, encouraging, structured, and adapted to each learner. I understand that students learn at different speeds, so I take the time to identify their strengths, areas for improvement, and individual goals. I focus not only on technical skills but also on confidence, discipline, coordination, sportsmanship, decision-making, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Whether you are a complete beginner, a young player looking to improve, or a student preparing for school-level competition, I will create a supportive environment where you can learn, practice, make mistakes, improve, and enjoy the process.
I look forward to helping you or your child become a more confident, capable, and enthusiastic tennis or table tennis player.

My name is Jasper, and I am a Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director, sports coach, and tennis and table tennis instructor based in Abuja. I enjoy helping children and beginners discover the enjoyment of sport while developing the skills, confidence, discipline, and understanding needed to become better players.
My coaching approach is student-centered, practical, progressive, and fun. I understand that every learner develops differently, so I adapt my sessions according to the player's age, experience, ability, confidence, and individual goals. For beginners, I focus first on helping them feel comfortable with the racket, ball, court/table, movement, and basic rules before gradually introducing more advanced techniques.
My Teaching Methodology
My sessions normally combine:
* Warm-ups, coordination and movement activities.
* Introduction to equipment and basic safety.
* Fundamental skills such as grip, ready position, footwork, balance, ball control and racket control.
* Progressive technical development, including serving, returning, forehand, backhand, movement and positioning.
* Drills designed to develop consistency, reaction time, coordination and accuracy.
* Fun challenges and games to keep younger players engaged.
* Match-play situations to help students apply what they have learned.
* Tactical awareness and decision-making as players progress.
* Fitness and agility activities appropriate to the student's age and ability.
* Regular feedback and correction to help students understand and improve their technique.
For children, I avoid making lessons feel like repetitive drills. I use games, challenges and age-appropriate activities to make learning enjoyable while still maintaining clear coaching objectives. My goal is for students to leave each session having learned something new, improved a skill, and enjoyed playing.
Lesson Duration
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although the duration can be adapted depending on the student's age, concentration level, experience and training objectives.
A typical session may include a warm-up, technical instruction, progressive drills, game-based activities and a short match-play or challenge component.
My Experience and Qualifications
I have a background in Human Kinetics and Health Education and professional experience as a Physical Education teacher, Athletic Director and sports coach. I have worked with children and young people across different age groups and have experience organizing and coaching school sports programs and competitions.
My experience includes coaching and developing young athletes in sports such as tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, football and swimming. My work in Physical Education has also given me a strong understanding of physical development, movement, fitness, coordination, sports skills and age-appropriate instruction.
As a coach, I place strong emphasis on technical development, sportsmanship, discipline, confidence, enjoyment and long-term athletic development rather than simply winning matches.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are particularly suitable for:
* Children and young players approximately 5–15 years old.
* Complete beginners with little or no previous experience.
* Players who want to improve their basic technique and confidence.
* Young players progressing from beginner to intermediate level.
* Students preparing to participate in school competitions.
* Young athletes interested in developing their skills for competitive tennis or table tennis.
Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or already has some experience, I will structure the sessions according to their current ability and create a progressive pathway for improvement.
My aim is simple: to help every student become more confident, skilled and enthusiastic about playing tennis or table tennis while developing positive habits that can benefit them both on and off the court.
