About Órla

Dia dhaoibh - Órla Ní Chuinn is ainm dom!

I am a Gaeilgeoir and teacher who is dedicated to the promotion of the Irish language. I developed a deep respect for Irish when spending time during the summer in the Conamara Gaeltacht region as a teenager. I have been closely involved with many major Irish language organisations, such as Cumann na bhFiann and Conradh na Gaeilge, on a mostly voluntary basis ever since. I became a teacher to share my grá for the language and instill a sense of confidence to use it both in and out of the classroom.

I have experience teaching all secondary school year groups, including exam years, at Higher and Ordinary levels. In the last year, I have gained amazing professional experience teaching adults Irish, which has allowed me to teach complete beginners (TEG A1), intermediate learners (TEG B2) and all abilities in between!

In my classes, I provide clear, visual and condensed notes that highlight the most important material to know for your exam, AND/OR practical day-to-day Irish, which is especially suitable for those wishing to take more informal classes.

About the lesson

As a teacher with 4 years experience, my classes have become a positive and encouraging place for my students. I believe in a student-centered approach, where your individual goals, worries and learning preferences are prioritized. If preferred, however, I can lead lessons myself and aim to cover all relevant material pertaining to the curriculum or course of the individual student (subject to when you enroll). It is important to me that my students feel comfortable and supported in my lessons.

My lessons tend to last an hour and take place online. Lessons can be taught exclusively through Irish, or with a mix of English and Irish.
