About Sophie
I’m Sophie, a qualified primary school teacher with QTS and experience across Early Years, KS1 and KS2, including phonics interventions and mixed-age classes. I also hold a Fine Art degree, which shapes how I approach learning — creatively and with curiosity. I’m enhanced DBS checked and genuinely love helping children find their confidence with reading and phonics. Outside of tutoring I’m a mum myself, which means I understand how much this matters to families.

I’m a qualified primary school teacher (QTS) with a specialism in phonics and early reading. I work one-to-one online via Zoom, adapting to whichever phonics scheme your child’s school uses so sessions feel connected to their classroom. Many families come to me ahead of the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check in June. Sessions are calm, structured and tailored to your child.
I send a short note home after every session so you always know what we covered and what to practise together.
