About Kitty

My name is Kitty, I am a Humanistic Counselling Psychotherapist. I work with all ages 18+. I welcome all faiths, races, genders & sexualities. I will provide a safe, supporting, therapeutic space, where you can be assured you will be received without judgment. Sometimes we feel stuck, lost, struggle to express our emotions or are trying to figure out who we are. Sometimes we are seeking a way to explore past traumas, or explore our future goals. The therapeutic aim is to help you move toward achieving meaning and fulfillment in your life.

I offer in-person sessions in the centre of Brighton, online and "walk and talk" therapy in various parks and along the seafront in Brighton. This is available for individuals who prefer being outside as opposed to seated in a clinic. This is weather dependent and can be hybrid with online sessions.
Reaching out is a big step, and there is no expectation, or obligation for us to work together after our first 30 minute session. We can discuss your needs and see if I can provide what you are looking for, and ultimately, whether or not it feels like the right fit to work together. I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice description

Whatever you are struggling with, we will explore ways to address it at a core level. I have worked in many areas, including; PTSD, CPSTD, childhood trauma, depression, identity, anxiety, OCD, sex work, relationship issues, physical & mental abuse, addiction, shame, ADHD and existential crisis. Confronting the impact of such issues is often challenging, and we will work at a pace that suits you.

There are 3 approaches in Humanistic; Gestalt focuses on physical experience and symptoms that accompany trauma/life experiences. Transactional Analysis takes a more analytical approach which can provide a theory based framework from which to address issues. Person-Centered focuses more on you as the individual and your experience. By using all 3, I can tailor an approach specific to your needs.

My first session

The first session is 30 minutes and is free. There is no obligation to work together afterwards. It is a meet and greet to figure out whether if we can work together in a way that will be beneficial for you.

About the lesson

The journey of self-development continues day by day, year by year, but it is up to us in which direction. This can be a painful and difficult experience when we do not feel like we have any support. Part of our goal should you wish, will be to help you establish good self-support as a foundation to operate from. Stemming from a psychoeducational point of view informed by humanistic thinking, sessions will be provided online at a regular time that suits you. Together we will look at the picture of your life and figure out where the dilemmas you are facing may have taken root and how to best address them in a way that is going to serve your personal growth in a positive direction.

It is my goal to help you feel secure and safe during our sessions so that we may establish a healthy working alliance.
