About Irram

I've always had a love for English, from devouring every book in the library as a child to writing imaginative stories in my teens. This passion only grew when I studied English at university, spurring me on to train as an English teacher.

I've worked and trained at both good and outstanding schools for over 6 years, helping students enjoy the joys of poetry (believe me, it's possible!), navigating the complexities of Shakespeare, and guiding year 11 students to exceed their GCSE target grades, opening them up to endless future opportunities.

About the lesson

Through my own enthusiasm for literature, I encourage students to appreciate (and, yes, sometimes even fall in love with) the texts they're studying. I do this by introducing students to more diverse and relatable texts to broaden their horizons and help them better understand the complexities of literature and language, something that might be hard to grasp in the classroom.

I create a positive learning environment and welcome mistakes, as this helps growth, but I also ensure my students are challenged so they strive to achieve the best possible grades.

Lessons will be 45 minutes and catered to KS3 and KS4 students.
