Each of us learns uniquely and it’s our responsibility as tutors to find different methods and
patiently execute them. Presenting information differently and allowing students to interact with it
can improve their understanding and interest in the subject. One of my students didn't grasp the
concept of density so to make it simpler, I used available objects like juice bottles and geometry
boxes to differentiate between different states of matter and their densities. Apart from being
patient and adaptable to different methods of teaching, optimism is another major skill.
Connecting with a student and reassuring them of their progress requires positive reinforcement
and encouragement. Another important skill is being a learner. Tutors aren't just educators,
they're also learners. One must know the material inside out and, for that, a tutor must devote
time to learning and mastering something to become an expert on it. I remember making my notes
for some critical topics before explaining them to my students.
