About Kate

My name is Kate Finegan, I’ve been a full-time artist for over 15 years, with a passion for helping others unlock their confidence and creativity.

I regularly lead a wide range of creative classes and workshops in physical theatre, drama, acting to camera , and even aerial dance. I've taught at The Gaiety School of Acting for over five years and currently teach at The Lir. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many students ranging from corporate clients who want to gain stage confidence for presentations, mature adults who want to come back to acting classes, to beginner aerial dance students. This experience has allowed me to develop different methodologies in empowering students not only to use their voice in a confident and clear way but also how to be fully embodied physically too.

I understand and empathise with challenges that nerves present and so, I’ve developed practical, supportive techniques to help students feel grounded, confident, and fully embodied in performance.

About the lesson

I work regularly with corporate clients in preparing for presentations, open panel interviews or speeches.

I cater our hourly session to whatever your goal is, frequent things I help my clients with include:

- "What do I do with my hands?!" Looking at body language on stage & how to feel fully embodied, grounded, at ease, natural & confident.

- How do I project my voice? I give clients vocal exercises to use pre presentation to allow confidence in using their voice in a clear and articulate way.

- How to manage nerves & use them to fuel you for performance.

- Be your best self on stage. How to be fully natural and confident in who you are on stage.

Based on your own needs, I will cater our lessons focusing on simple yet highly effective theatre techniques so you can approach each presentation like a performance, a performance that sells confidence, ease and natural ability.
