About Joshua

My name is Joshua Gordon Jones and I’m passionate about psychology, personal growth, and helping people unlock their full potential. I've recently completed my degree with an avg 68.7 alongside working full time in SEN support, tutoring, and coaching. I have also now been tutoring psychology for over a year with great success amongst my clients. This experience has left me very confident in my abilities to help students like you! My experience includes one-on-one SEN support across multiple age groups, developing strategies with multiple teams and in some cases achieving unbelievable results for students. Beyond that, I’ve been coaching football since I was 14, giving me firsthand experience in mentoring, motivation, and fostering confidence in young people. I want to teach because I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. Honestly as a kid school never grabbed me and it is a goal of mine to make my sessions enjoyable and productive. Looking forward to helping you with your studies :)

About the lesson

Information on my approach: I will test your general knowledge + writing skills, and take it from there. For A-Level equivalent we will cover syllabus + essential studies from the 3 "main" fields of psychology (biological, cognitive and social), or if there are specific topics you'd like to cover this can also be easily sorted. At university level I am comfortable with most modules and especially proficient with neurodevelopmental disorders and general mental health research. I generally employ Vygotsky's approach / Carol Dweck's growth mindset within my sessions, and have supported many clients in producing results for crucial assignments and completing degrees. Lessons can be booked in half hour slots. Probably GCSE age and up due to the subject but can vary. I also send detailed weekly reports.

Joshua did some great work with my son. He went from not very talkative and capable to a very talkative and capable young man and I was very proud of the work he put in. Joshua‘s guidance and encouragement was very helpful. We have seen a marked improvement in James's school work. His teachers have been surprised. I totally recommend Joshua if you’re child requires specialist learning help.
