About Shannon

Hi! I’m Shannon, a first class Psychology graduate from The University of Nottingham, and I previously achieved an A* in A Level Psychology. I’m passionate about Psychology and believe the subject should be taught in a way that connects theory to real-life examples, helping students engage with the material deeply while also mastering exam skills.

With around 5 years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students of all ages and abilities, helping them understand content clearly and develop effective exam techniques. My tutoring background includes formal work with a company as well as private lessons, which has allowed me to refine a variety of revision methods tailored to different learning styles.

Currently, I’m aiming for a career in forensic psychology, so I bring both academic knowledge and real-world passion to my lessons. I’m approachable, patient, and committed to making Psychology accessible and interesting, with a focus on building confidence and critical thinking.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored specifically for GCSE, AS, A-Level, and university Psychology students, designed to fit your individual learning style and goals. With a strong understanding of the material and essay structures, I can help you focus on particular topics or exam skills you want to improve.

Having achieved an A* in A Level Psychology and a First Class in my Psychology degree, along with extensive tutoring experience, I adapt my teaching approach to suit each student’s needs, whether that means breaking down complex theories, practicing exam techniques, or refining essay writing skills.

As a passionate graduate with a genuine love for Psychology, I bring patience, friendliness, and dedication to every session, helping you build confidence and achieve your full potential.

Shannon is a reliable tutor that helped me for two different subjects.

During GCSEs, I was struggling with my higher tier maths papers. Shannon was recommended as my tutor. She helped me by understanding my struggles and worked through them with me patiently. Due to her help, I passed with a 7.

During my A levels, Shannon tutored me for Psychology. I struggled with writing 16 markers. Shannon developed great communication skills that suited me and my way of learning. She never gave up on me and always kept a positive attitude.

I would recommend Shannon, she has made a huge impact on my life and education.

Shannon has been incredibly informative and supportive while helping me with my psychology degree. She was able to fully explain to me concepts that I did not understand from lectures or textbooks such as biological psychology while also going at my pace. I particularly struggled with using software and statistical tests, but Shannon's knowledge of statistics and SPSS made me able to grasp the area of the degree that I found the most difficult.
