About Lindsie
I am a master’s-prepared nurse educator with more than five years of experience as a Med-Surg nurse, along with extensive experience in rehabilitation nursing, spinal cord injury nursing, and brain injury nursing. My nursing background also includes experience in the Emergency Department, home care, and hospice.
In addition to my clinical experience, I have worked as a hospital nurse educator and as a nursing instructor at a community college, where I taught first-year nursing students. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of both the clinical side of nursing and the challenges students face while learning how to think like a nurse.
I have always loved teaching and finding creative ways to make information stick. Outside of nursing, I enjoy a variety of creative hobbies, and I find it extremely satisfying to find unique, engaging, and sometimes unconventional ways to help concepts finally “click.” I believe learning does not have to be boring to be effective, and I love helping students build confidence while making even challenging nursing concepts feel more approachable.

My tutoring sessions are designed for nursing students at any stage of their journey, as well as anyone preparing to take the NCLEX for the first, second, or even third time. Whether you are struggling with the basics, feeling overwhelmed by complex nursing concepts, or simply need help learning how to think through NCLEX-style questions, I tailor each session to your individual needs.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what you already know and where you are getting stuck. From there, we work through the foundational concepts that are essential for success. I use a combination of discussion, real-world nursing examples, visual explanations, practice questions, and NCLEX-style strategies to help you understand not just what the answer is, but why it is the best answer.
We will practice breaking down questions, recognizing what the question is truly asking, prioritizing patient needs, identifying important assessment findings, and applying critical-thinking skills to unfamiliar situations. I also believe in going back to the basics when needed—because strong foundational knowledge makes everything else in nursing easier to understand.
Most importantly, I believe learning nursing should not feel like punishment. I enjoy making lessons fun, lighthearted, and engaging while still focusing on the knowledge and skills you need to be successful. I promise to do my best to keep you interested, involved, and awake! My goal is to help you build confidence, strengthen your understanding, and develop the critical-thinking skills you need to succeed in nursing school and pass the NCLEX.
