About Maeve
I hold a PhD in Software Engineering and have 13 years of teaching experience working with students from beginner to advanced levels. My interest in programming began with a curiosity about how software systems are designed and how logical thinking can be used to solve real-world problems. Over time, this curiosity developed into a deep passion for teaching and mentoring students in their coding journey.
My teaching approach focuses on clarity, patience, and practical understanding. I break down complex programming concepts into smaller, manageable steps so students can follow them easily and build confidence gradually. I encourage hands-on practice and active participation, helping students learn through experience rather than memorization. I also adapt my teaching style based on each student’s pace and learning needs, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy working on programming projects, exploring new technologies, and continuously improving my knowledge. Teaching programming is deeply rewarding because I see students grow from beginners into confident problem solvers. Helping them develop valuable skills and achieve their goals motivates me to continue teaching with dedication and enthusiasm.

Programming becomes much easier to understand when students learn how to think logically and break problems into smaller steps instead of memorizing code without clarity. My lessons focus on building strong foundations in coding concepts such as variables, loops, functions, data structures, and algorithms through clear and detailed explanations. I guide students step by step so they can understand how each line of code works and how different components interact to form complete programs. I use simple examples and real-world scenarios to make coding more relatable and easier to apply in practical situations. Each session is interactive and supportive, encouraging students to ask questions, experiment freely, and learn from mistakes without hesitation.
I structure my lessons carefully based on the student’s level and goals. Beginners start with basic concepts such as simple programs, conditions, and loops using guided practice. Intermediate learners explore functions, arrays, debugging techniques, and structured problem solving with more independence. Advanced students focus on algorithms, optimization, and building real-world projects with deeper understanding. Regular coding exercises, practice challenges, and feedback sessions are included to ensure steady progress and confidence building.
Programming also helps students develop strong logical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are useful in many fields. As they gain confidence, they begin to enjoy creating programs and solving complex challenges independently. Many students feel a strong sense of achievement when their solutions work successfully. My goal is to make programming clear, engaging, and empowering for every learner.
