About Véronique
I began exploring programming out of curiosity about how logical instructions can create real-world applications, which led me to pursue a B.Sc in Computer Science and an M.Sc in Software Engineering. Over 8 years of teaching, I have guided learners from diverse backgrounds, helping them understand not just how code works but why it works, developing problem-solving skills, technical confidence, and independent thinking along the way.
My teaching approach is structured, patient, and interactive. I use live coding examples, relatable analogies, stepwise exercises, and project-based learning to ensure students gain both understanding and confidence. I encourage learners to ask questions freely, experiment with ideas, and develop independent solutions, fostering creativity and resilience in problem-solving.
Outside of teaching, I continue exploring new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to keep lessons fresh and relevant. Watching students progress from uncertainty to competence, gaining confidence in their abilities, and enjoying the process of creating functional programmes brings me immense satisfaction. My ultimate goal is to instil curiosity, self-assurance, and a love for programming that supports lifelong learning and problem-solving skills.

Programming becomes clear and enjoyable when students understand how small logical steps combine to create functioning programmes. In my lessons, I emphasise core concepts such as variables, loops, functions, object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures. I focus on teaching in a structured, step-by-step manner, ensuring that students not only understand syntax but also develop a strong grasp of problem-solving strategies. Each session includes explanations, live coding examples, exercises, and projects designed to reinforce learning and allow students to practise independently while building confidence.
I customise lessons according to each student’s experience level. Beginners explore fundamental syntax, control flow, and small coding exercises to develop understanding and confidence. Intermediate learners focus on modular programming, debugging strategies, and building complete projects. Advanced students tackle complex algorithms, optimisation, APIs, and preparation for exams or coding competitions. Lessons are paced to balance challenge with achievable progress, helping learners steadily improve technical skills while fostering independent thinking and creative problem-solving.
Beyond coding, programming develops critical reasoning, analytical thinking, and patience that can be applied in everyday problem-solving. Students gain confidence as they debug, iterate, and refine their solutions, understanding that failure is part of the learning process. My goal is to guide learners to approach challenges systematically, build technical skill and confidence, and cultivate a lasting curiosity and enjoyment for software development and computational thinking.
