About William F
I started the trumpet at 8 and am now in my 40s. Started classical and jazz lessons early and continued that on through high school where I had the opportunity to play with Wayne Shorter. Have toured and recorded with many artists.Other performances with: John Mayer, toured with Teena Marie for 5 years, Stevie Wonder, accompanied Mariah Carey at the 2006 Grammy’s, Ludacris on the Jay Leno Show, India Arie, Nine Inch Nails, Mos Def, Rick Ross, Lloyd, Snoop Dogg, Sinbad & The Stank Nasty Band, Macy Gray, Blu Cantrell, Richard Wright, Roy Hargrove, Earth Wind & Fire, Capital Cities, Common, Smokey Robinson, Usher, Prince, Sebastian Bach, Kelsea Ballerini, Kamasi Washington, Terrace Martin, Brett Young, Meghan Trainor, Eric Benet, David Foster, Lupe Fiasco, Dakah Hip Hop Orchestra, Blake Shelton, Johnny Gill, Miles Mosely and as a regular Guest with NBC’s Late Night with Carson Daly house band. William has also performed on American Idol and The Voice, as well as appearances on HBO’s “Criminal Minds,” July 4th 2017 (ABC) and CMA Country Christmas 2017 (ABC) TV Specials with Lady Antebellum. William regularly tours with Capital cities and had the pleasure of performing at Lollapalooza, Life is Beautiful, Kaaboo, Playboy Jazz, Firefly, Coachella, March Madness, Sunfest, and various other music festivals internationally. Most recently William toured with Lady Antebellum on the “You Look Good World Tour” 2017 which included local venues such as the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

I’m big on tone, use of air and positioning the body. I play jazz, classical, pop and more. If you are new I have a lot of experience getting newer students started and helping intermediate students to continue getting better. Tap in if you are interested. I use a combination of Clark, flow studies, Claude Gordon, Caruso, Arbans and more to attack my practice daily.
The first 30 min will be used primarily to observe where you are in your trumpet development and discuss what your goals are and how often you would like to meet.
