About Helen
Hello! My name is Helen, I am a Bristol-based tutor specialising in teaching English and Drama at GCSE/A Level, as well as Acting, Audition prep, LAMDA exams and Arts Award qualifications. ABOUT ME I work professionally as a theatre director and have an MA in Theatre Directing from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. I previously studied at the University of Warwick where I gained a 1st class degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies. I am currently the Young Conservatoire teacher at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Previously, I spent five years working for Prime Theatre teaching Drama in schools, colleges and Youth Theatre. I also ran a mentoring programme for young people in partnership with the council, supporting them to achieve alternative Arts qualifications such as Arts Awards. I am passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential, to feel confident in their abilities and to nurture a love of Drama. I have experience working with young people with a variety of SEND, SEMH and communication needs and adapt my lessons and teaching style to meet the unique needs and interests of the student. I can deliver sessions online or in person in the Bristol area.

Hello! My name is Helen, I am a Bristol-based tutor specialising in teaching GCSE and A Level students in English Literature and Drama. I also offer Acting, Audition prep and LAMDA exams. CLASSES I tailor my classes to suit the learning styles, goals and interests of the student. Classes can be 45-90 minutes and can be delivered online or in person. Classes typically can focus on essay writing technique, unseen text analysis, set text analysis and understanding but will always be tailored to a specific area of challenge for the student.
