About Ivy
I’m a passionate computer programming tutor with over 7 years of experience helping students build strong foundations in coding and computational thinking. I hold a solid background in computer science and specialize in working with middle school students who are just beginning their programming journey. My goal is to make coding approachable, engaging, and fun from the very start. I introduce core concepts like variables, loops, and conditionals through interactive lessons and relatable examples.
In my sessions, I often use simple projects such as creating basic games, animations, or small apps to bring ideas to life. I believe students learn best by doing. That’s why I encourage hands-on coding exercises and guided problem-solving activities. I also incorporate storytelling into lessons, turning coding challenges into creative adventures that spark curiosity and imagination. Sometimes we debug together like detectives solving a mystery.
Over the years, I’ve helped many students gain confidence in their abilities and develop a genuine interest in programming. I focus not only on technical skills but also on building logical thinking and persistence. Every small success matters. I take pride in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.

My teaching approach to computer programming is relaxed, practical, and focused on real-world applications. I believe students learn best when they see how coding connects to things they use every day. That’s why I include examples from current technologies like apps, automation, artificial intelligence, and software development. I cover not only core programming concepts, but also related areas such as web development, data science, cybersecurity, and software engineering.
I keep lessons simple and interactive. Students write code from the very beginning. We build small projects, test ideas, and fix errors together. This helps them understand how programming really works. I also use examples from modern tools and platforms to make learning relevant and exciting.
My approach supports learners who enjoy creating things on their own and those preparing for deeper technical learning. I guide them in thinking logically, solving problems, and understanding how different technologies connect. I focus on building confidence step by step.
