About Sergio
I'm Sergio, and the reason I teach the way I do comes down to one student I had in my third year.
She was in her late thirties, had wanted to play piano since she was a kid, and finally signed up for lessons. Smart, motivated, genuinely excited. And within two months she was already losing steam. Not because the piano was too hard. Because the lessons felt too much like lessons.
That stuck with me. Because she was exactly the kind of student who should have thrived. And she wasn't thriving because of how things were being taught — not because of who she was or what she was capable of.
I went back and rebuilt everything from scratch after that.
The two things I kept coming back to were visual learning and engagement. Visual because the piano is actually a really visual instrument — the patterns on the keys, the shapes chords make, the way theory lays out spatially across the keyboard — and most of that visual logic just never gets properly shown to students. Engagement because motivation isn't a personality trait. It's a response to the environment you're in. Create the right environment and the motivation shows up on its own.
That student came back, by the way. She's been with me for four years now.

The easiest way I can describe a lesson with me is this — it moves.
There's always something happening, always a reason behind what we're doing, always something just ahead that you're working toward. It never settles into that slow, grinding feeling where you're not sure if you're actually getting better or just putting in time.
Visual explanation comes before everything else. A new chord gets shown as a shape before it gets played as a sound. A rhythm gets drawn out before it gets counted. Theory gets mapped visually on the keyboard before it gets explained in words. By the time your hands try something, your brain already has a picture of it — and that picture is what makes it click.
The gamified side of things just means that progress has a satisfying structure to it. Clear checkpoints. Real wins you can point to. A sense of momentum that carries from one lesson to the next. Students don't drift in my lessons. They move forward, and they feel it happening.
