I have studied fiddle with Lesley for around eight or nine years. She is a supportive and very encouraging teacher, and helped develop my confidence when performing. Her clear teaching of theory gave me an advantage in SQA music exams. She is very friendly and helped me push myself to perform when I would have struggled to do so alone. When lockdown started she kept going through Skype lessons which worked very well. She’s very hardworking and a lovely tutor!

Lesley is a great music teacher. She's fun, kind, helpful and patient. She is so passionate about music and will help if you are stuck. Lesley is so upbeat and enthusiastic, she gets Lucy to work on technical details while keeping the lesson fun. Lucy is doing really well on violin, and got a distinction for her grade 1 exam. I found Lesley through my sister. At that time she had recently moved to Cupar. We required a tutor for The Music makers workshops in Auchtermuchty. Knowing myself the type of tutor I was requiring for me and for the group at the workshops someone who had structure to her teaching, good at explaining, patient, fun, take you out your comfort zone, set you challenges, give you encouragement and techniques to enable you to feel confident enough to pick up an instrument and play it at no matter what level you are, enhance your skills. Lesley fitted that position to a tee.
Lesley did not fail to deliver all of these requirements. She is extremely talented in all forms of music from playing various instruments herself to tutoring in them all. . From beginners to intermediate Lesley will find the best in your abilities and make you feel supported and relaxed whilst encouraging you to achieve your goals..Whether it be learning to play an instrument or requiring help to improve your playing or understanding the music theory. She is warm and friendly, very patient, she has a wide knowledge of music passing on this knowledge with all levels of pupils from children to adults from beginners to intermediates and beyond. There are very few tutors like Lesley and if you are lucky enough to be taught by her you will not be disappointed at the results you achieve.

My daughter and I both had lessons with Lesley. Katie learned penny whistle and I brushed up on my violin. She managed to unpick my bad habits of which there were many and helped me build the confidence to play by ear. I would have stuck at lessons for longer if I'd had a teacher like Lesley when I was a child. She's a patient teacher and her lessons are fun. She's versatile and can teach classical, traditional Scottish and Irish and all genres in between. My daughter enjoyed catching up with Lesley each week. She takes a genuine interest in her pupils.
