About Csaba Tibor

I'm Csaba, a professional oil painter and art teacher based in Milton Keynes. I've been painting since 2014 and I run Life Drawing MK: weekly life drawing sessions, a year-long figure drawing course and masterclasses with visiting artists. I've also worked as a professional tattoo artist for over 20 years, which has trained my eye for precise line, structure and design.

My teaching draws on the classical atelier tradition (structure, anatomy, value) combined with a contemporary, expressive approach. Much of what I know I learned the hard way, as a self-taught painter, so I know exactly where students get stuck and how to get them moving again.

I'm patient, direct and encouraging, and I love the moment a student's drawing suddenly clicks.

For beginners and improvers who want to draw and paint with real confidence, not just copy tutorials.

We work on the foundations most people skip: seeing proportion and gesture, light and shadow, the hidden geometry that holds a figure or portrait together, and how to build an oil painting in layers that stay fresh rather than going muddy.

Each lesson is tailored to you. It might be charcoal figure drawing, a portrait study, colour mixing with a limited palette, or working through a painting you're stuck on. You'll get clear demonstrations, honest feedback and exercises to practise between lessons.

Lessons last 60 or 90 minutes, in person in Milton Keynes or online by video call. Suitable for adults and teenagers (16+), from complete beginners to experienced artists who want to refine their technique. Materials guidance is included, so you won't waste money on the wrong paints, papers and brushes.

If you enjoy working with others, I also run weekly life drawing sessions and a structured figure drawing course in Milton Keynes.
