About Nathalie

I'm a graduate in flute from the University of Veracruz, Mexico. I started learning music at the age of 7 and have been teaching and performing music for more than 15 years. I'm passionate about teaching because I love sharing my experiences as a performer but also about the different styles of music in India and the West and how a musician can benefit from having a broad vision about this art form. Wether the student wants to pursue music as a profession or as a hobby I dedicate myself to help them find the right techniques to improve in their skills, and I like to make the classes interactive and as personalised as possible, so that the student can feel encouraged to learn and progress in its instrument.

About the lesson

The instrument classes focus on technique, scales and all the musical elements needed for a student to perform pieces from the Western Classical repertoire and popular music from around the world.
I like to be flexible in the structure of the class, giving importance to the needs of each particular student, depending on their age and musical level.
The classes follow the general structure of ABRSM and Trinity syllabus, and I encourage students to takes these examinations from time to time.
I believe everybody has musical abilities and learning music can help in developing different skills that can be useful in day to day activities but also can improve concentration and psychomotor development.
The classes are intended for children from the age of 7 till adults above 70. I have had plenty of experience with students of all ages and believe that any age is good to start learning a new instrument or developing a new skill.

Perfect! Nathalie is one of the most unique and gifted flute teachers I have come across. She has a rare command over both Eastern and Western music, and she is skilled in multiple instruments from both traditions, including the bansuri and the Western concert flute. Her depth of knowledge in classical music is truly impressive.

What makes her teaching special is not only her musical expertise, but also her ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple, clear, and encouraging way. Her teaching style is very supportive, easy to understand, and motivating. She makes the learning process enjoyable while still maintaining a high standard of musicianship.

Nathalie is truly a Sangam of multiple cultures, musical traditions, and artistic backgrounds. Anyone who has the opportunity to learn from her is very fortunate.
